Meet the Italian Watching point!

Last year the Equal Opportunity Office of the Region of Abruzzo created the Italian Watching Point, responsible for monitoring hatred symbol and manifestations in Italy. The experts who work at the Watching Point are Andrea Cerase, an academic scholar in sociology and communications experienced in media portrayals of minorities, and Stefania De Nicolais, a legal consultant with a broad expertise in the defense of immigrant, women and minors. Andrea and Stefania have selected and collected a variety of relevant cases on the topics of discrimination and racism, liaising with the project staff from the Region of Abruzzo and Progetti Sociali.
At the time, the Italian Watching Point has collected over 50 cases concerning racist symbols, languages and manifestations. Contact the National Watching Point to submit a symbol or for further information:
