Description
In relation to a verdict of caning against a Muslim girl in Saudi-Arabia, a member of the True Finns far-right party and a member of Kotka City Council Freddy van Wonterghem wrote in a popular online newspaper and blog that "Saudis can do whatever they want in their own country, this is not our business. It can be considered positive that everytime a Muslim girl is killed, a potential Muslim-breeder is out of the game". Due to the comment, Wonreghem was prosecuted by the state prosecutor and condemned to fines by the court for incitement to ethnic or religious hatred.
Why racist
Wonreghem's comments are openly racist, promoting a prejudice that among all Muslim communities killing of women is a standard practice. Furthermore, the sentence promotes deep hatred against Muslims by openly suggesting that killing Muslim women can be seen as "positive".
